Sediment and the prawns caught from these backwaters in quantitative and qualitative terms, their growth in relation to temperature, their susceptibility to various antibiotics, their role in terms of food for juvenile prawns and the presence of bacteria of public health significance. According to the researcher such a comprehensive study would be of some relevance to shell-fish processing industries apart from its academic value.
