Abstract:
In this study of workers of the two industrial
units, it has been found that the women workers are more
committed to the organization than the men workers. The
organizational commitment has been a popular research topic
among organizational sociologists, industrial psychologists
and labour relations specialists. Much of the early
research was directed on organizational commitment of men
workers and studies on organizational commitment of women
workers were less when compared to that of men workers. The
results of this study is partially supported by the
findings of Aranya and Jacobson (1975) who found that
parental responsibility is linked with maintaining stable
patterns of employment.

Abstract:
Though of recent origin, commercial poultry farming has
achieved momentum in Kerala because of its wide and varied
potentials capability of employment creation, low investment,
quick returns, lesser combination of various factors of
production, enhanced productivity per unit of agricultural land,
maintenance of soil fertility etc. Despite all the ancillary attributes characteristic of a thriving venture, the performance of poultry farming in Kerala was not comforting, especially in the case of small and medium size farms. This study has aimed at detailing the various components of cost and revenue in the business of poultry farming, and the adducing of empirical evidences on the nature of relationship of different variables as the gross income, current
rate of productivity, extent of capacity utilisation and size of
farms in terms of number of birds reared and the farms’ overall
financial performance. Alongwith this a descriptive approach was
made to highlight the challenges and opportunity poultry farming in Kerala, with special emphasis on its economic and financial aspects.

Abstract:
Several related articles have appeared ix: journals
and dailies, covering mainly the advantages and
disadvantages of leasing. Some have focussed on the
leasing scenario in India while others projected the
prospects of leasing. However, there are some research
articles worth mentioning. An exploratory study done by
R. Narayana Swamy expresses -the views of leasing companies, on lease accounting issues in India. It deals
only with several aspects of accounting regulation,
accounting standard setting, accounting proposals and
implications and economic consequences of the proposals
for leasing companies and for lessees and users of
financial statamnts. Another article dealing with the
growth and performance of leasing industry by Rita
Vasanls gives just a peripheral view of the performance of
leasing companies. Hence an indepth study is attempted to
analyse the leasing industry in India, in all its
manifestations

Abstract:
even after 45 years of independence, it is seen that
women are still left cum the periphery cnf the political process.
Effective and meaningful participation of women in politics
remains elusive for most of them. The representation of women in the state legislatures and in both Houses of Parliament has
been very marginal. The percentage of women members in the LokSabha to the total membership of the body has never touched a two-digit figure so far. Within these 45 years, India could field only five women as Union Cabinet Ministers. In the case of the various states also, the position of women's participation in political activities is not very different. On the whole, it is seen that in independent India the role played by women in the electoral politics of the country or in the day to day activities of the different political parties is very" ineffective and insignificant.
The present study was undertaken to make an assessment of
women's involvement in the political process of Kerala since independence. This small state in the southernmost part of India claims ‘that it possesses certain. unique features in its social fabric that makes it different from the rest of the country as far as the place of women in society is concerned.

Abstract:
The study is intended to estimate the existing rate of
participation of women beneficiaries in the development
programmes of different organisations in Kerala. It would
enable one to understand whether participation is at the
satisfactory level or not. Given the rate of participation,
the major thrust of the analysis is on the impact of
governmental and non-governmental organisations on the rate of
participation. This is undertaken under the assumption that
NGOs, due to their proximity to people and their needs, ensure
better participation rates. Besides the organisational
differences, the other major determinants of women
participation such as their socio-economic characteristics,
psychological make up, the nature of the programme etc. are also highlighted. 0 Since the ascribed status of women in
society is inferior, the role of organisers, development
personnel and local leaders is also pointed out. Thus the
basic objective of the study is women participation and its
determinants in the development programmes

Abstract:
The focus of the present study is on issues related
to Legal—Economics. The economic approach to legal issues is
based on the belief held by both legal professionals and
economists that law and economics are complementary
disciplines and that collaboration is highly beneficial. The
principles of economic analysis can help our understanding of
the law. Economic approach has important effects on the costs
and benefits that prospective litigants may expect from
litigation and their decisions to litigate or to settle out of
court. Economic consideration is also helpful to understand I
1 the significance of litigation costs, the practical problems
of legal administration and the provision of legal servicesz.
The economic approach to law is mainly based on the belief
held by some economists that the core of economics, the theory
of choice is in principle- applicable to all human and
institutional behaviour.

Abstract:
This makes a thorough study of Role of Academic Bodies with Special Reference to the Academic Programmes in the Universities in Kerala. The present study has dealt with the constitution, powers and functions of the authorities of the universities in Kerala, especially the academic bodies which have well-defined powers and function. This thesis gives in detail the role and functions of the academic bodies in the four universities in Kerala, under study: and examines the role-effectiveness of these bodies. To sum up, it can be concluded that the academic bodies in the universities in Kerala do not function as effectively as envisaged in the laws of the universities. They have a maintenance-oriented approach rather than a dynamic one, without thinking in terms of introducing innovations. They need improvement in the various aspects of their constitution, selection of members and their mode of functioning
