Pharmacological Applications of Marine Species 
Fish has got different therapeutic values based on its proximate composition. A number of fish species are traditionally for the treatment of various ailments.
Traditional fisher folk have already identified and are using a few fishes, which have pharmacological properties. Marine pharmacology, is the area, which is expected to benefit from the traditional knowledge of fishers. Some of the findings in this study are given below

	  -  -  Kadal kuthira (Sea horse) is widely used for all types of urinary complaints, abdominal pain, toxic swelling etc. Sea horse is used for asthma, epilepsy.
  -   - 	Sardine oil has used for body pain, body swelling, all types of inflammations, skin problems, 
  -   - Eating Sardine helps increase Brest milk in lactating mothers, reduce the problems of women menstrual issues, heart problems etc.
  -   - Eating Sardine is good for Arthritic complaints.
