Indigenous Knowledge of Disaster Warning
The experienced fishermen can predict the climatic changes almost precisely. Colour changes in the sky, strength and direction of wind, the direction and position of black clouds, wave action etc were the main measures for the fishermen in earlier time to predict natural hazards.
Eg - Unusual barking of dogs in groups is the prediction for the onset of disasters such as storm, earthquake, etc.
