Indigenous knowledge for climate prediction
The experienced fishermen can predict the climatic changes almost precisely. Colour changes in the sky, strength and direction of wind, the direction and position of black clouds, wave action etc were the main measures for the fishermen in earlier time to predict natural hazards
white clouds indicates wind
Black clouds indicates Rain
Rain bow in the Western side indicates Rain
Clouds on the horizon with the shape of dolphin nose atone end ( they locally called as Karmegham Kallu vekkuka) (കാർമേഘം കാല് വെക്കുക )
